BOLINGBROOK, IL — Three people were injured and were taken to a local hospital after Bolingbrook police were called to a local park early Sunday morning after a report of shots fired, police said Sunday. No one is in custody after police said they arrived at AdventHealth Bolingbrook just after 2 a.m. Police said a 21-year-old man from Park Forest was being treated for a gunshot wound to the leg and two 21-year-old women — one from Joliet and the other from Plano —were being treated for injuries sustained from broken glass, police said. The three were all at an after-hours gathering at the park in the 800 block of Remington Boulevard and were leaving when shots were fired, police said. Police said the large gathering of people was not authorized to be in the park. A Bolingbrook police spokesman said Monday that the two women were injured when glass was shot out of the vehicle they were in at the time. Police said that both incidents remain under investigation. Anyone with information about the incident can contact the Bolingbrook Police Department Investigations Division at (630) 226-8620 or to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at (630) 378-4772. A tip may also be submitted at bolingrookcrimestoppers.org or by using the mobile P3 Tips app. All contact with Crime Stoppers is anonymous and if the information leads to an arrest, a cash reward may be issued.
