CLEVELAND, OH —Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse announced Monday that Cirque du Soleil will be returning to Cleveland this summer for the first time in four years.
From July 15 to 17, the arena will host a Cirque show called "Crystal," which will blend circus art and ice skating, according to organizers.
The show will run for just five performances: 7:30 p.m. on July 15, 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on July 16 and 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on July 17.
Tickets currently are available exclusively to Cirque Club members. Those wishing to join the club can do so on the Cirque du Soleil website. Tickets will go on general sale at 10 a.m. on May 2 on the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse website.
"We are absolutely thrilled to finally bring 'Crystal' back on the road," said Mike Newquist, president of Cirque du Soleil Touring Shows Division. "For two years our performers have been waiting to skate again and experience the joy of the live audience once more. It will be an emotional and magical return. We can't wait to share (the show's) energy and vibrancy during our return to Cleveland after four years!"
According to Cirque, the all-ages show features a lead character named Crystal, who takes the audience on an exhilarating tale of self-discovery as she dives into her own imagination.
"Feel the adrenaline as she soars through this surreal world to become what she was always destined to be: confident, curious and creative," show organizers said in a statement. "'Crystal' invites you to suspend reality and glide into a world that springs to colorful life with astounding visual projections and a soundtrack that seamlessly blends popular music with the signature sound of Cirque du Soleil."
The show was created by Shana Carroll and Sebastien Soldevila.
