Description
BATAVIA, IL — Enjoy cocktails and want to support Batavia events? save the date because Cocktails in the Park is returning to downtown Batavia July 23, organizers announced.
Cocktails in the Park is set to take place from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Appleton Park, 100 N. Island Ave. Guests will be able to enjoy an evening of live music, appetizers and cocktails.
The event's aim is twofold: it showcases local restaurants while raising money for Batavia MainStreet, a nonprofit organization whose goal is to "help create a unique and vital downtown that embraces history, celebrates arts, preserves our natural environment and promotes quality events to install a 'sense of place' in our community."
The cocktail-focused event is the nonprofit's largest fundraising venture. Funds help put on annual events — such as the Egg Hop, Well Batavia Festival, BatFest and Oktoberfest — and support staff and volunteers who run the operation. The organization is also responsible for operating the weekly Batavia Farmers Market.
Additional information about the event and participating restaurants have yet to be announced.
