Description

BEVERLY CREST, CA — Firefighters extinguished a quarter-acre brush fire in Beverly Crest Sunday afternoon, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported. The fire was first reported at 9505 W. Hidden Valley Road, near Coldwater Canyon Drive and Franklin Canyon Park, at 4:08 p.m. Sunday, LAFD spokesperson Margaret Stewart told City News Service. The department believes the fire started after a fallen tree knocked down power lines. The LAFD said Sunday that downed power lines remained an electrical hazard, and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power remained on-scene to handle the emergency. Firefighters, with assistance from the Beverly Hills Fire Department, managed to contain the fire at a quarter of an acre, and extinguish it after 48 minutes. No structures were harmed and no injuries were reported.
