Trumbull Schools Should Go Hybrid: Acting Superintendent

TRUMBULL, CT — Acting School Superintendent Ralph Iassogna is recommending that the public school system pursue a hybrid learning model after getting parental input on the school's reopening plans. "Because time is of the essence, my subcommittees and I thought it best to announce our plan now so parents, students and staff have more time to prepare for our September 8 opening. (PreK, K, 6 and 9 start on September 4 with an early closing.)," Iassogna said. He urged the Board of Education to adopt the plan at its Aug. 11 meeting. The hybrid plan would have students in grades 6-12 cohort based on last name. Students with last names starting with A-L will be in Cohort A while M-Z will be in cohort B. Parents of K-5 students will be notified about what cohort their child is in before the start of school. The basic structure of the hybrid plan for K-12 students is as follows: Some students with special education needs and English language learners will attend school four days per week.
