Description
TRUMBULL, CT — A West Haven teen was arrested for stealing from unlocked vehicles on Thursday, according to police.
A resident notified police that juveniles were breaking into cars in the Edison Road area and were traveling in a black BMW. An officer found the BMW in the middle of the roadway with no lights and a rear door open, said Lt. Brian Weir, police spokesman.
A person was seen running from a nearby driveway and into the BMW. The BMW then sped away from police. It had been reported stolen.
Around 3 a.m. the same night a resident reported that a juvenile knocked on his door and asked to use a phone to call for a ride home, Weir said.
Another resident told police that the same teen was walking around the area and asked to use his cellphone. He said it appeared that the teen had "partied too much."
The resident pointed out to where he last saw the teen and officers apprehended him.
The teen was charged with four counts of conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary.
