K&M TRUCK REPAIR is looking for a reliable, safety minded worker to assist with all facets of maintenance for a small facility and to act as a parts runner and shuttle driver. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Pick up parts and materials with accuracy at various vendors throughout Nassau and Suffolk County daily. • Drive technicians to and from work sites daily. • Snow removal using snow blower and shovel and de-Icing walkways • Blowing and power washing yard as needed. • Painting parking lot and curb stripes annually. • Use forklift to move heavy garbage to garbage bin and metal waste bin. • Sweep and mop floors. • Maintain grounds in and around facility by removing weeds, trimming bushes, planting bushes, removing rubbish, and repairing fences. • Change light bulbs up to 18 feet above using scissor lift. • Painting interior and exterior walls as needed • Conduct regularly scheduled safety checks on equipment. • Perform low-level plumbing duties: snake lines, repair toilets, repair leaking pipes, etc. • Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning bay floors, washing walls and glass and removing rubbish. • Minor building skills like installing doors, flooring, assembling sheds, furniture, etc. • Move furniture and computer equipment. • Notify General Manager of need for repairs. • Maintain company equipment including air compressors, van, pick-up truck, hand tools, etc. • And more. QUALIFICATIONS: • High School Diploma • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills in order to communicate with co-workers and fully comprehend job assignments. • Basic knowledge of light plumbing, carpenter, painting, and grounds-keeping. • Basic mechanical aptitude • Skill in the use of a variety of tools (including both hand and electric tools and forklift). • Ability to perform tasks required bending, stooping, twist and kneeling and lifting to 60 lbs. • Ability to work overhead and on ladder. • Detailed work ethic, be enthusiastic, committed, proactive and resourceful; effectively gets the job done. • Must have clean valid NYS driver’s license. • Must be authorized to work in the United States 40 hours per week Medical and Dental Insurance 401K plan with company match Paid time off Direct Deposit weekly pay
