Sweet rescue in need of good home

Young male cat, seems in good health besides being underweight, though I haven’t been able to get him checked by a vet yet. I picked him up off the street where I work in Sacramento. He was with some other more feral cats who wouldn’t come near me, but this guy was clearly a lost or abandoned pet. He’s quite wary/skittish as you would expect but is happy to be pet and played with once he’s comfortable. Very gentle, hasn’t shown any signs of aggression, let’s me pick him up to put him back in the crate without any fuss. Mostly been eating and sleeping… I’d keep him, but I live with someone with a bad cat allergy so he can’t come in the house and my dogs are going nuts when they see or smell him in the backyard, so I think there must be a better place for him.
