Subjects needed for Autism Research
Frederick J. & Marion A. Schindler Cognitive Neurophysiology Laboratory of the University of Rochester Medical Center
We are recruiting children and adults with and without autism for a study to better understand visual, auditory, and tactile perception.
Participation will include at least two visits (~3-4 hrs each). The participant will be asked to look at objects on a screen, listen to sounds via headphones, or feel different sensations on their hand while we monitor brain activity with electroencephalogram (EEG) or brain imaging (MRI), and will participate in psychological testing.
Subjects should:
• Be 6 years old and up
• Have normal hearing
• Have normal (or corrected-to-normal) vision
• Have no history of major head injury
• Subjects with autism should have a formal clinical diagnosis ALL LEVELS OF COGNITIVE AND VERBAL ABILITY ARE WELCOME!!
Reimbursement
$18/ hour for the participant
$25 for parent/ guardian of participant
