Resident Opens Art Gallery in the Newly Renovated, Octagonal Building at 189 Main Street, North Reading. Inner Space Fine Arts owner Allyson Paladino has created a uniquely welcoming and accessible gallery showcasing original works from acclaimed New York and New England artists and is dedicated to bringing the beauty of abstract and traditional fine art and objects to the Readings and surrounding towns North of Boston. (https://www.innerspace-fineart.com/)Allyson comes from a graphic design and print background and always aspired to open her own business working with incredible creative talent. When she saw the iconic Main St. building was available she knew it was the right time. After a year of renovations and the COVID-19 guidance, the gallery is now open for business. The name “Inner Space” reflects both the physical space we live in and our interior lives—the things that bring us happiness or provoke thought or connect us. it’s what resonates with a person, that little bit of magic that brings them back to look at a painting, again, and again. The gallery currently features four highly accomplished artists, each with a unique style and history.  Internationally exhibited and local Needham artist Karen M. Krieger’s atmospheric Asian inspired landscape paintings are influenced by the ancient Chinese tradition of portraying the personal experience of viewing a mountain, rather than by conveying a literal representational of it. Karen aims to convey the great depth of a mountain range and invites the viewer to bring their own connection to the inherent flow, patterns, and natural spirit of a painting by subtly hinting at misty heights. They risk prettiness but don’t succumb to it. They start with an observation of the natural world. Trees, plants, light, weather and water are all jumping off points for her process-driven work. Elise’s sophisticated works have been featured in numerous Manhattan and Brooklyn galleries for years. For more information regarding her work, visit www.elisefreda.com. Aric Russom calls Western MA home and his exquisite artworks reflect the industrial landscapes and historic mill towns of his New England home. Aric is interested in the objects and environments we surround ourselves with, and particularly the play of interior and exterior, which has drawn him to a series of window motifs. Russom’s portfolio is a dynamic array of large-scale oil-on-canvas and intricate linocut prints. Carolyn Duke is a potter who works in a mountaintop setting in the Catskill region of New York. The natural beauty of the landscape, with its deep views into the Delaware River valley, infuses her art. She fires in a variety of ways—raku, horsehair, barrel firing, smoking and high-fire. Whether functional or fine art sculpture, all of Carolyn's works are one-of-a-kind. For more information regarding her work, visit www.dukepottery.com.
