Our reputation is the key that will open doors to new business in the future.” -James Udelhoven, Chief Executive Officer Job Description: The expeditor coordinates and executes the delivery of merchandise, equipment, and supplies so that a production schedule may be followed. Receives purchase orders from Purchasing Department; reviews for accuracy and shipping/delivery instructions. Retrieves materials from local vendors; inspects parts, tools, hardware, pipe, etc. for serviceability, quantity, size, and Made in the USA requirements if applicable. Prepares and packages materials for air, barge, or truck shipment to locations throughout Alaska. Ensures all personnel utilizing equipment in materials yards are wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), and operating in Accordance with UOSS Safety Policy. Identifies hazardous materials; coordinates hazardous cargo dangerous goods certification and packaging with shipping vendor. Readies and ensures Airway Bills and Bills of Lading have the correct shipping address, point of contact, shipping codes, signatures, purchase order and lot numbers. Manages extensive paperwork file for each shipping location; ensures each shipment has copy of packing list, pick ticket, invoice etc., lot sheet, and material drop off sheet if required. Retrieves, inspects, and delivers vendor distributed material to all Anchorage job sites. Ensures rapid pick-up and delivery of company documents, mail, federal express, contracts, and financial transactions. Responsible for UOSS office building recycle and shred, stocking of paper and water. Assist local project managers with demobilization of Anchorage job sites upon completion. Ensures facility thoroughfares, decks, stairs, and emergency exits are cleared of snow and ice. Transfers heavy equipment/tools include scissor lifts, frost fighters, pipe benders etc. between local job sites. Ensures all facilities secure/gates locked at the end of the business day. Qualifications: · Class A – Commercial Driver’s License · Department of Transportation Medical Card · Transportation Workers Identification Card · Forklift Certification · Clean Driving Record · Basic Computer Skills Education / Experience: High School Diploma Additional Information: UOSS is a drug free workplace, which means you will need to ensure that you can pass a pre-employment drug screening to be considered for employment.
