This Argentine Tango boot camp introduces essential elements of Tango movement for social dancing. The techniques include parallel and cross Presenting Argentine Tango Initiation Boot Camp with expert instructors Dima and Noora. Explore the World of Argentine Tango social dance on Saturday April 30 and Sunday, May 1st at the Salsa With Silvia Dance studios. Learn about Tango music, history and a beginner technique for Argentine Tango movement  as well as the unique mindset of the lead and follow role. This Argentine Tango boot camp introduces essential elements of Tango movement for social dancing. The techniques include parallel and cross systems, types of embraces and lead and follow techniques. We will discuss essential Argentine tango musicality and dive into basic vocabulary, tango customs and etiquette on the dance floor. Steps and embellishments include cunitas, lapiz, cross, ochos, grapevines and paradas.  This is a beginner level boot camp, No partner or experience necessary. We recommend that you attend both days for best results and continuity. Wear comfortable, easy to move clothing and shoes or socks that will stay on your foot moving backwards or forward. If you have never taken Argentine Tango before, we strongly recommend that you take both days of this boot camp for best results. This boot camp is designed as a continuous instruction and the material on Day 2 builds on the material that will be covered during Day 1. About the instructors: Noora and Dima have been dancing and teaching Argentine Tango for more than fifteen years. Their teaching and dancing style is light and fun, emphasizing the subtle and sensitive conversation between partners. Noora’s early experience with ballet, modern, jazz, flamenco, and other dances influenced her approach to tango as a fusion of musical and imaginative. Dima's fluid style is light and fun emphasizing seamless transitions between traditional and modern tango. Founded in Washington DC in 2008, Tango Mundial mission is to bring the excitement of partner connection and artistic expression through the rich palette of Argentine tango. After the last ten years of teaching classes in South Africa, Malawi and Ghana, Noora and Dima are back to DC to continue introducing new generations of dancers to the mysterious world of Argentine Tango.
