Walking Tour of Covedale Cemeteries
Join Jewish Cemeteries on a walking tour of our Covedale Cemeteries to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Jewish Cincinnati. We’ll focus on the history of the cemeteries and the congregations associated with them, spotlight notable interments, and tell interesting life stories in a COVID-safe, outdoor environment. This tour will include uneven surfaces and walking through grassy areas. The tour will begin in the Golf Manor Cemetery located near the intersection of Anderson Ferry and Crookshank Roads.
Jewish Cemeteries of Greater Cincinnati oversees 25 Jewish cemeteries with 35,000 graves. We serve as a national model because of our role as one of the nation’s first organizations to manage nearly all the Jewish cemeteries in one community. All major Jewish denominations are represented and respected. Our oldest cemetery, founded in 1821, was the first Jewish site west of the Allegheny Mountains. As the final resting places for many of our community’s ancestors, our cemeteries help to preserve and honor our community’s history.
