NORTH ANDOVER, MA — North Andover public schools will begin with a week of remote learning, the School Committee and Teachers Association said Wednesday evening. Students kindergarten and up will not begin in-person instruction until Sept. 22 at the earliest.
Remote learning will begin Sept. 16, the planned start date. Pre-kindergarten students will be in-person beginning that day, but other students will wait to begin in person.

Kindergarten students will begin in-person learning Sept. 22 and 23, with cohorts split into two groups.
Grades 1 through 9 will begin in-person learning according to the hybrid model on Sept. 24.
Grades 10 to 12 will beg in-person according to the hybrid model on Sept. 28.
Students in the online learning academy will have daily live instruction for the beginning of the year, before switching to cohorts when other students begin in-person instruction.
Students in "substantially separate programs," whose families were notified by the special education department on Aug. 28, will begin in person on Sept. 16.
The Committee and the union also agreed to an adjusted high school schedule. The last academic block and the lunch block have been switched and a snack break has been added, allowing for a full academic day followed by grab and go lunch. The new dismissal time will be 1:25 p.m.
