I have an older roof with architectural shingles. It’s got a few leaks that the source of which are not immediately appear. One of the sources is the chimney flashing and tuck pointing. I guess I need a new roof and I’m inclined to do a tear off to make sure that whoever installed the old roof years ago had the first clue as to what they were doing. I got a bid for like 8500 materials included which is ridiculous. It’s a 1700 square-foot single-story ranch with a very gently sloping roof. Easy job. Something like 22 squares. I need somebody who knows what they’re doing who is in trying to get rich off one job. Preferably somebody who can get it done on a Saturday or Sunday.
