NORTH ANDOVER, MA — The new ubiquity of remote learning means a sad end for a winter tradition, North Andover Public Schools confirmed Sunday: no more snow days.
The district said that if there is enough snow to impact school, all students will instead attend their scheduled classes remotely.
But there is still a chance of school being canceled, due to power outages. According to the district's letter to families, school days will be cancelled when a school and the majority of households within its zone lose power.
Cancellations will occur on a school-by-school basis. School days will be made up in June, like a snow day in a typical school year.
Cancellation decisions will be made and communicated in the same way as snow days, the district said.
