FlushFest is West Hillsborough's funky, homemade music festival.
FlushFest is a funky, homemade music festival, held in a West Hillsborough backyard. It will have all kinds of music from noon till evening, and then top off the night with a silent film with live piano accompaniment, and DJ dance party.
In 2017 independent filmmaker Grace Beeler needed funds to finish a documentary film about a Brazilian sewer system which could serve urban slums. Her neighbor Peter offered to throw her a music festival. And FlushFest was born.
FlushFest has grown into a West Hillsborough institution. And Grace’s film has grown into larger projects and into an NGO, After the Rain. This year FlushFest will support two After the Rain projects - The Triangle Refugee Film Project and the Appropriate Sanitation Institute.
As always, FlushFest is a community building fun day. Admission is by donation and there will be some great door prizes to reward your donations. There will also be a piñata and kids activities, and, this year, food trucks! Come on out and enjoy the day! BYOB wine and beer.
