Bay Area Entertainment service has an opening for a lighting and audio technician for load-in/load-out, set-up, and strike of equipment. We provide uplighting, string lighting, station lighting, DJ, and audio service for weddings. REQUIREMENTS Technician: We are looking for a friendly, punctual, self-motivated team player who is passionate about providing excellent service, and is able to safely lift 50 pounds. Experience: Ideally you have event lighting, DJ, and/or audio experience. You will be trained in all set-ups. AVAILABILITY Most events are on Saturdays, some are on Fridays and Sundays, and we do the occasional weekday event. You’ll know most dates 2 to 10 months in advance. YOUR LOCATION Our office is in Berkeley. If you are located in the Berkeley/Oakland area that is a plus. DAY-OF SCHEDULE A day often involves 30 minutes of load-in at our office, 1 to 2.5 hours of set-up onsite, around 1 hour of strike after the event, and 30 minutes of load-out at the office. Some days there will be 3 to 6 hours of downtime during the day when you are not needed and can do your own thing. There will be days you can be offsite during that time. Occasionally there will be another tech onsite to assist. SERVICE AREA Greater Bay Area. Most venues we service are within 45 minutes of Berkeley. We are often in Berkeley and Fremont. COMPENSATION $250 for the average day. $300 in some cases. You will be one of a handful of techs that I'll offer opportunities to. This opening is a great way to take the edge off monthly bills and earn supplemental income with a minimal scheduling commitment.
