Construction careers showcase for young Detroit students emphasizing Engineering & skilled trades. New location! Durfee Innovation Society
The Construction Science Expo career awareness event is held annually in May and has touched over 9,000 underserved youth in Southeast Detroit since 2009. This event is a field trip for youth enrolled in the Black Caucus Foundation/Navigation to Success program as well as other schools in Detroit, showcasing the many aspects to working in the Construction Industry.
Our coalition of 60+ construction employers, associations, professional trade skill organizations, colleges and strive to bring hands-on experiences showcasing Engineering and Tradeskills together in order to inspire young people to see where they could fit working in our industry. Our goal is to alleviate the huge workforce shortage issue in our industry.
Together we can establish a view of Construction that emphasizes safety and success and INSPIRES YOUTH to work in our industry!
Our 2022 annual event will be held in-person on May 17, 2022 from 9:00am - 2:00pm at a new location: Durfee Innovation Society in Detroit.
