Shitsu-maltese mix in need of new home

Description

We unfortunately need to rehome our little dog (10lb Shitsu-Maltese) in Bellevue WA. He is: -Neutered, all vaccines up to date -house trained, crate trained, great recall, has basic training -GREAT with other dogs (have not tried cats but will likely be fine), -Fantastic on road-trips where he sits quietly in his carrier inside the car for hours, and on hikes where he enjoys sitting in his backpack. The right family/person/couple: He has lots of energy, so a big yard and/or active people would be best. No young kids, and previous dog experience are ideal. We have set him up for success in every way we can. The problem is he's become threatened by feet (which he will bite in some circumstances) and we have a newborn baby - we have worked with a behaviourist and have a training plan that someone else could execute but we cannot take the risk with the baby. He has a sleep startle reflex as well, but this we manage somewhat easily but only having him sleep in his crate (not on the couch, bed, etc). He also doesn't love to handled much but I do manage him myself (no previous dog experience) and this can continue to be trained with the right person. Like any dog, he is attached to us so a new owner would need patience to rebuild trust with him. We could meet a few times to introduce him properly. Small rehoming fee which will be donated to PAWS.
