Farmingdale's Tails And Ales Series Enters Final Weekend

FARMINGDALE, NY — The last legs of the Tails and Ales events are scheduled for this weekend in Farmingdale. Those wishing to return or experience it for the first time can head to the area behind The Nutty Irishman and 317 Main Street on Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Both restaurants are on Main Street. The doors open at noon, and the first beers are scheduled to go out at 1 p.m. The event will run until 5 p.m. If you're interested in going, you can buy tickets here. For $40, you get access to a craft beer tasting where samples will be brought to your table every 15 minutes. There is also a $10 option for non-alcohol drinkers or designated drivers which comes with a doggy gift bag of treats. Featured breweries for the upcoming weekend include Dogfish Head, Schlafly, Brewdog, Flying Dog, Austin East Cider, Sixpoint, Bells, Founders, Lagunitas and Duclaw. However, that never happened as coronavirus-related restrictions eventually led to the event's cancellation, says Mike Marra, the organizer. Tails and Ales was created to give people something fun to do while COVID-19 safety guidelines are met. "That experience ultimately is bringing both dog lovers and beer drinkers together for a fun day with different samples, food, live acoustic music," Marra told Patch. Food costs extra, but the full menus of both The Nutty Irishman and 317 Main Street are available. Every precautionary measure has been taken to ensure all who attend are safe, Marra said. "As we wrap up our last few dates, anybody who has any questions or concerns can be at ease that we are following the guidelines directed to us by the state, town and county," he said. "Ultimately, we just wanted to put together somewhat of an experience because of the event that was canceled due to COVID in the first place."
