Description
FARMINGDALE, NY — The Nesting Place, a wellness center dedicated entirely to the needs of new and expectant mothers, officially opened in Farmingdale on Thursday following its relocation from West Islip. A grand opening celebration is scheduled for 2 to 8 p.m. Oct. 17, according to a news release.
The Nesting Place was founded to meet the needs of thousands of young couples who live on Long Island. In 2016 alone, there were more than 29,000 births on Long Island, according to the release. The store was created with the intention of being the first dedicated space on the island for mothers to seek support.
The Nesting Place's new location is 2043 Wellwood Ave., Farmingdale. The spot is meant to be accessible to mothers in both Nassau and Suffolk. The store is slated to reopen for classes and provider appointments on Oct. 12.
At the shop, moms can find items to help support them before and throughout motherhood: from fertility and prenatal support to postpartum and postnatal services.
"The Nesting Place emphasizes holistic services like acupuncture and massage from Long Island's leading holistic health practitioners and experts, mental health counseling and group support like their signature Fourth Trimester Support Circle that brings local moms together in the early postpartum period," the release states.
Laura Siddons, an Islip mother of three; and Jacqueline Aiello, a Lindenhurst mom of two, opened The Nesting Place last October in West Islip.
More information on classes, workshops, e-courses and services can be found on The Nesting Place website.
