FARMINGDALE, NY — Lidl, a German supermarket, is coming to Farmingdale following the closure of Best Market. Lidl is slated to open in early 2021 following a comprehensive remodeling of the 501 Northwest Dr. location, according to a spokesman. Best Market closed in September. Lidl US announced its deal to acquire Best Market in late 2018, Supermarket News reported. Following the deal, Best Market stores were converted into Lidl. Lidl currently has nine Long Island stores; not counting the incoming Farmingdale spot.
