NEWTON, MA — On Friday, the West Newton Cinema opened its doors to the public once again after some four months with them closed on account of the pandemic. No one came. But owners are taking it in stride. "It's giving my dad and staff time to get used to the 'new normal' and new procedures," said Bridget Bali, whose dad and uncle own the theater. Throughout the past few months, the team has worked to make small adjustments to the building. They have been prepping to welcome people back into an environment that is safe and adheres to government guidelines. The theater will only be selling 25 tickets per theater, so they recommend purchasing your tickets in advance online to secure a seat. Staff ask that, as is now normal these days, you bring and wear a mask when in the building, and keep at least 6 feet from other patrons and staff. Saturday and Sunday the theater will be featuring Family Fun Matinees for $5 per person. Ticket includes admission, a small popcorn and a small drink.
