Press release from the City of Poway: April 21, 2022 Construction is moving along for the two temporary water tanks being built on the Lake Poway ballfield to store Poway's treated water while the city replaces its aging clearwell reservoir. The temporary bypass system and clearwell replacement, along with a third project to construct a treated water connection to the San Diego County Water Authority pipeline, are part of $70 million capital improvement program (CIP) to increase the reliability of drinking water for water customers now and generations to come. During the April 5 Poway City Council meeting staff shared an update along with photos of the construction progress. View the 20-minute presentation here. Staff also updated council on the $1 million community project grant from the EPA received through Rep. Scott Peters' office, and more than $340,000 in project savings that have been reappropriated to future costs.
