Newton Police Officer, 1 Other Sent To Hospital After 3 Car Crash

NEWTON, MA — A police officer and another driver were sent to the hospital after they were involved in a three car crash near the intersection of Walnut and Watertown streets. Sometime between 11 a.m. and noon the officer was responding to a medical emergency when the crash happened at the intersection, according to Lt. Bruce Apotheker who is a spokesperson for the department. Two of the drivers were taken to hospitals, with injuries. "The intersection is temporarily blocked while the crash is being investigated," said Apotheker.
