Farmingdale State College Researches 'Sustainable Transportation'

FARMINGDALE, NY — Farmingdale State College is slated to host a virtual presentation delving into mobility issues on Long Island, as well as the research being done by Farmingdale students to address these issues, according to a news release. The event is scheduled 11 a.m. to noon on Wednesday. The event on Sustainable Transportation research being done at the school is open for anyone to register. Those interested can sign up here. Topics include student research on parking stall demand reduction and transit-oriented development, and a panel discussion on the benefits, logistics and obstacles of being car-free on Long Island. Keynote speaker Clifton Lacy, MD from the Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation at Rutgers University, will discuss the health and safety of passengers and operators on transit. The panel discussion will include Farmingdale State College faculty members Kazem Oryani, Michael Shenoda, and Alireza Shams.
