ADVICE PLEASE! venues?

Hi guys who play in the area for pay. I’m having trouble breaking into the Raleigh scene, (not because I don’t know what I’m doing musically) but because I’m not from here, I don’t know the best venues to pursue playing, so I just end up driving to Washington DC, where I came from to gig 2 weekends a month. I could really use some advice on some venues that would be good for a very experienced band that does covers, (and originals) depending on the type of venue. Jesse
