Looking for an experienced Jack Russell or Terrier owner who understands the temperament of this breed and loves them for who they are and can nurture with training and correction. Indy is a 6 year old smooth coat Tri-color Jack Russell Terrier and needs a forever home. He is a purebred JRT from a breeder in So. CA. (who is helping in this search) He loves anything active - walks, hikes, paddle boarding, swimming. He is very smart and learns quickly. He walks well on leash — but NOT near other dogs he doesn’t know. He is aggressive towards other dogs (not people) while on leash. He is doing well training with food to ignore other dogs. Indy is crate trained, house trained and rides well in the car. At home he barks at people and dogs he sees out the windows and when they come to the door, or if dogs are along the fence line in the yard. He has never lived with other dogs, cats or small children but does well at overnight boarding in free play with up to 14 dogs. Indy will try to get out the front door. He escaped twice and had bad incidents against the dog next door and he can no longer live in the neighborhood. No fees. (He is current on all vaccines, neutered, has microchip.)
