STRATFORD, CT — For the first time in more than a week, Mayor Laura Hoydick did not report any additional deaths in connection with the new coronavirus as part of her daily email on the outbreak. The last time Hoydick sent an update that did not include a new virus-associated death was April 11, at which time seven people in town had died after getting the virus. As of Monday, 26 Stratford residents had suffered virus-related deaths. While fatalities did not increase Monday, confirmed cases of the virus rose to 421 — up 29 day-over-day, according to Hoydick's most recent email. Across Connecticut as of Monday, there were 19,815 confirmed cases, 1,331 of which were associated with the death of a patient, according to state data. After a two-day decrease in hospitalizations, the number of patients hospitalized with the virus increased by 18.
