Not just a boring book club, it's more like a ladies night! Come for the vibes, leave feeling energized for your tomorrow. What would Cleveland look like if its women held more wealth, power and influence? That is the focus of the IGNITE Ladies Book Club. We will read books and engage in conversations that inspire women to feel empowered to take action in their lives in the pursuit of more. Conversations are facilitated by Nola Movement’s Chief Movement Leader, Nike Olabisi-Green and led by a panel of women who share their reflections on the book along with their honest life experiences. READING LIST: Our May 2022 books is What Happened to You by Bruce Perry & Oprah Winfrey. We will explore conversations on mental health and the role that trauma plays in all of our lives. HOW TO PREP: Thursday is the new Friday and it's ladies night! Come ready to enjoy a light refreshment and to meet other high vibe ladies in Cleveland. You don't have to read the book to be part of this powerful conversation. Come with an open heart and mind to share your thoughts and reflections on this months' book. We will be outside in the Eastman Reading Garden, consider bringing a sweater or light jacket depending on the weather. PARKING: Do you get stressed parking downtown? So do we and want to make sure you know what your options are! Street Meter Parking - You'll find meter parking along E. 6th Street. The meters are free after 6P. Pay by Phone Lot | Chelm Lot ($11) -1375 E 6th St.| This option is super easy but costs a little more. Use the QR code at the lot or follow the link here - Be sure to arrive into the lot before purchasing parking as it may be full. Meet the host of the IGNITE Ladies Book Club: Niké Olabisi-Green shares her contagious energy for movement and wellness with everyone she meets. As the Creator and Chief Movement Leader at Nola Movement, she and her team believe that when women are well from the inside out, it causes a chain reaction of transformation - in the family, in the community and in the world. Meet Clotea Mack Clotea was born in Cleveland, Ohio to a single mother who raised her with a passion for education, reading and writing. After becoming a teenage mother at the age of 16, she later pursued a Bachelor of Arts in English from Case Western Reserve University in order to become a Language Arts teacher, which is a calling she still loves today after 25 years. Meet Habeebah Grimes Habeebah Rasheed Grimes has made serving Northeast Ohio’s most vulnerable children her life’s work. She is a sought-after public speaker, community leader, and creator of No Crystal Stair Podcast. As CEO of Positive Education Program (PEP), Habeebah leads a staff of 450 professionals committed to supporting healing in children who have experienced significant adversity and mental health challenges. Recognizing the harm that trauma and chronic stress cause in the lives of the young people PEP serves, Habeebah worked closely with The Neurosequential Network to certify the agency as a Phase 2 Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) site. Her current focus is providing leadership in support of culturally affirming and healing-centered practices at PEP and in the broader community. Meet Odiri Omobien Odiri Omobien received an undergraduate Degree from the University of Toledo focusing in Women’s and Gender Studies. Her research in this in area led her to the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University where she received her graduate degree in social work and earned her License as social worker in 2016. Ms. Omobien quickly embarked on her journey to provide social support and wellness to underserved populations. Ms. Omobien takes an active role in understanding social policies through service, teaching, research, and program development. Ms. Omobien has now transitioned into the Health Care system and has served as a Social Worker at University Hospitals Accountable Care Organization integrated health team, within Population Health. Currently Ms. Omobien is a Supervisor within Care Transitions and Inpatient Rehab for Community Health Workers. Ms. Omobien is a General Practitioner of Social Work for the Medicare population and has earned her Clinical License in fall 2021. Ms. Omobien serves as Program Director and Therapist for Enduring the Course Inc. a private practice mental health agency providing a variety of mental wellness services for the State of Ohio.
