Description

We're back! Come join our celebration of Capitol Hill's vibrant literary culture at the first in-person Literary Hill BookFest since 2019! The Literary Hill BookFest is an annual celebration of books and authors held each spring on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. After hosting our event virtually for the past two years, we're excited to be back "home" in the North Hall of D.C.'s historic Eastern Market for our first in-person event since 2019. This year, we'll feature more than 50 authors, poets, booksellers, publishers, literacy groups, and more, including National Book Critics Circle Award winner Ariel Sabar, poet and D.C. Hall of Fame inductee E. Ethelbert Miller, former Washington Post columnist and NPR host Bonny Wolf, award-winning public radio journalist and children's author Kitty Felde, and many more. Visitors will enjoy timely panel discussions, help compose this year's community-penned poem, enjoy a full slate of family-friendly activities in our bustling Children's Corner, and meet some of their favorite authors of fiction, history, children's literature, poetry, politics, memoir and more. The BookFest is completely free and open to the public, with a poetry open mic immediately following the main event.
