Join Cardiovascular Institute of the South and Baton Rouge General Physicians for a free screening event on Tuesday, May 10th at CIS Zachary Join Cardiovascular Institute of the South and Baton Rouge General Physicians for a free screening event on Tuesday, May 10th at CIS Zachary (6550 Main St.) from 5-7 p.m. Guests will receive a complimentary electrocardiogram (EKG), blood pressure, weight and blood glucose screenings. An EKG is a painless test that records the electrical signals of the heart. The screening can detect blockages, the thickness of the heart wall, past heart attacks and more. Guests with elevated glucose levels can receive RetinaVue images which is a diabetic eye exam. Results will be reviewed on site by CIS & BRGP physicians. Risk factors of cardiovascular disease include family history, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes, as well as smoking, being overweight or being inactive. Registration is required.
