Join us for a tree planting event at San Pablo Park, Berkeley on Saturday 30 April, 2022. In coordination with the City of Berkeley, The East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse, 100K Trees for Humanity, and Cal Fire, we invite you to join us this Arbor Day to plant a tree. Haas has committed to planting 400 trees over the next academic year to achieve the following goals: In 2019 Haas printed over 400 million pages of paper and we need to plant 400 trees to offset our printingPlanting trees is essential to help sequester carbon, increase canopies, increase communities' positive public health indicators, create shade to cool, and support biodiversity - all essential for a healthy planet and communityHelp grow west Berkeley’s urban forest in the Berkeley’s flatlands where it is significantly less dense than in the hills.Engage staff, faculty and students in these projects that make a positive impact and grow partnership for further engagements beyond the Haas campusLocation: San Pablo Park, Berkeley 2800 Park Street (Between Russell and Ward) Date: April 30, 2022 Arrival: 10:00am Volunteer Time: 10:00-1pm Goal: Plant 76 trees Click here for more information on the Haas Tree Planting Initiative .
