Description

Deepen your knowledge of local plants with a walk in McLaren Park. Join local herbalist Bonnie Rose Weaver on an herb walk at McLaren Park. Together we will learn about the botanical medicine that grows in one of San Francisco’s largest parks. We will discuss traditional and modern use, folklore, and herbal preparation techniques of various medicinal plants in the area. We will observe, touch and maybe even taste some plants before we settle into a plant meditation. This is an active and memorable class for plant enthusiasts, open to all levels and ages. We recommend that participants wear clothing layers, a sunhat, bring a notebook, pen/pencil, and a water bottle, and anything else needed to keep you comfortable for a two-hour outdoor class. Regarding Tickets: Please choose the price point that reflects the ways that you can show up honestly in community. If you have more, walk in this world with privileges, or are feeling generous, please pay more. If you have less, are impacted by social bias and need to budget, please pay less. When we pay different levels, even tho everyone would love a "deal," we can learn to support each other under an unjust, unfair economic landscape. Thank you to Alexis J. Cunningfolk of Worts and Cunning for the graphic below which illustrates these community values.
