With 5 generations present in the workforce and the huge tensions that exist across these generations, developing culturally intelligent leaders who are adept at bringing out the best in their generationally diverse teams can be a challenge, but once accomplished, it will reduce this tension and allow for a more psychologically safe workplace. Regardless of the workplace sector you find yourself in, the rapid change of today’s world has left all of us needing to understand our intergenerational teams in a more comprehensive and empathetic manner. One thing we can be sure of is that all employees desire to work under managers who create a safe space for them to flourish. Are you able to ensure this for your employees on multi-generational teams? You are not alone if you are wondering how to decrease the tension across the generations and desire to build a culture where every generation can thrive. LEARNING THE “WHY” The Generational Shift will equip those seeking to navigate this unique intergenerational transition that is taking place across industries. Participants will learn the “why” behind the tension that exists across the generations. They will begin to recognize the biases they are exhibiting and how it is impacting team dynamics. They will also learn to communicate the vision and purpose of the organization in a way that motivates and inspires each generation. Traditionalists, Boomers, Xers, Millennials, and Gen Z will all walk away with a greater awareness of each other and practical steps to bring about positive change in creating a more collaborative and innovative workplace. PRACTICAL RESULTS Dr. Katherine Jeffery will bring an engaging and formational experience to your team while offering space for each generation to shine. She will work with your team to build bridges and break down bias through workshop experiences, webinars, coaching, and focus groups. This will help stop the brain drain that is occurring as Boomers retire and Gen Xers increasingly join the gig economy. Millennials will feel heard and have a greater context for why other generations don’t show up in the world the same way they do. And who doesn’t need to learn a little more about Gen Z? Every generation will walk away feeling good about what they bring to the table and ready to create space for other generations to bring their best selves to the team. A 20-YEAR STUDY Katherine has worked with companies and organizations as large as Fortune 50 and as small as a library. She understands what it’s like to work with every generation. She is a Gen Xer who has grown up in a Boomer world and has worked with Millennials for over 20 years. She knows in order to stay relevant she has to keep on top of the Gen Zers in her life. Katherine’s dissertation research was focused on Millennials, leadership, and teams and she has been building bridges across the generations ever since. Building an intergenerational workforce that is innovative and collaborative is something every business needs to prioritize, especially during this current climate.
