NEEDHAM, MA — Three Needham High School seniors were among the 36 graduating seniors across Massachusetts who earned a scholarship sponsored by a university. The three students are: Jason K. HedmanZachary LuCindy ZhangThis week's scholarships are the third round handed out so far in 2020. The National Merit Scholarship Corp. announced 3,300 winners across the U.S. on Wednesday. Each student will get between $500 and $2,000. An additional round of college based scholarships will be announced in July, according to the NMSC. Hedman plans on studying computer science. His scholarship was sponsored by Vanderbilt University. Lu plans on studying political science. His scholarship was sponsored by the University of Chicago. Zhang plans on studying education. Her scholarship was sponsored by Tufts University.
