PLEASE NOTE:No family pets or animals are permitted at this event. Humans 10+ only, please.If you suspect your pet is under the weather, our first recommendation is to call your veterinarian and bring the animal to the clinic as soon as possible.This is NOT a CPR certification course. Rather it is a seminar to help educate farm owners and pet owners on how to respond quickly in any animal situation.You will learn essential skills and techniques to identify and properly care for animals in the event of illness or injury:
Signs To Look for: How Do I Know My Pet Is Sick?Basic Wound Care: Open Wounds, BandagesHow To Give CPR To an AnimalWhat To Have on Hand for EmergenciesAnimal Vaccine Education The seminar kicks off at 1:00 pm with Dr. Stewart Colby, veterinarian/founder of Windward Animal Hospital, and Ben Hortman, Assistant Technician. They will teach how to identify signs that your small animal is sick, and how to provide the best care possible until you arrive at the vet clinic. Dr. Colby will perform a demonstration on basic wound care, as well as the proper way to administer CPR to an animal in an emergency.
Tickets are $10 each, and registration is required ahead of time. We welcome all ages 10 and up, but no outside animals are permitted. Pre-assembled animal first aid kits will be available for purchase at the end of the seminar.
