Tour the inner workings of Second Harvest Food Bank
Join us on Thursday, May 19th from 10:30 - 11:30 for a visit to Second Harvest Food Bank in Watsonville for an educational, engaging and inspiring experience. This tour offers a unique glimpse into the everyday operations of the 2nd oldest food bank in the nation. It takes a tremendous amount of staff, volunteers and coordination between donators to sort and distribute the food to the people who need it. This tour is very hands on and will provide insight into what it takes to combat hunger in our community.
Second harvest Food Bank Santa Cruz County distributes food to over 100 non-profits and churches with food assistant programs. The Food Bank provides over 55,000 hungry Santa Cruz County residents with food each month. 65% of the food distributed is produce. With the buying power of Feeding America Membership, the Food Bank can provide 4 healthy meals for every $1 donated!
The tour is FREE and canned food donations are appreciated. Please wear close toed shoes to the tour and will hope to see you there!
