To the Editor: I urge you to join me in voting for Jim Feehan for Stratford's State Representative in the 120th District. Jim has proved himself as a strong leader in local Stratford government. He is a forward thinker and fair to all concerned. He reaches across the aisle to gain bipartisan consensus whenever he can. This is the type of leader we want fighting for Stratford in the General Assembly up in Hartford. During Jim's nine-year tenure on the Stratford Town Council he was elected chairman and is the only Council chairman in the history of Stratford to preside over two consecutive budgets that passed unanimously. I got to know Jim after his council service when he was elected to the Stratford Board of Education. On this board, too, Jim was elected by his peers to be the chairman. Some board members are valuable as supporters and followers. Jim's value was evident as he spoke up with his leadership and helped to set the direction and agenda. His service on the school board was highlighted by technology upgrades for students, which now is proving even more valuable with remote learning. Jim also led the creation of a Five-Year Strategic Plan and the auditing of the enrollment, to ensure that the students being schooled by Stratford taxpayer dollars had legitimate residency in Stratford.
