NEEDHAM, MA — Needham's latest "Art Box" installation is on display and anyone driving down Kendrick Street can see it.
The Needham Cultural Council announced on Monday that traffic signal box at 140 Kendrick Street was the newest canvas for a town art project. Titled"Reach" the box was painted by local artist John Judge. The image features multi-colored hands reaching out to each other.
The work is the second in a series of three artworks.The first work was installed in November at Great Plain Ave and Webster Street called "Summer Days at Rosemary Pool" by Anne McCaffrey.
With generous sponsorship by Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital - Needham "Reach" speaks to the theme of human connection across all races and ethnicities. Presented on a traffic signal box in the Needham Crossing area, this latest installment of the Art Box expresses the Needham Cultural Council's commitment to enriching lives and embracing everyone with the power of arts and culture.
