I found this dog on sidewalk in front of my house last October. He had no tag, collar, or chip. I ran postings everywhere, and nobody claimed him. That was OK, because I don't think his prior owner was good to him. He scurried away from hands as if afraid of being hit. After a few days, he became less fearful. Now, he is very friendly. He seemed to fall in love with me, and that was fine. He is friendly with strangers. He LOVES other dogs. I took him to vet for basic exam and chip, because he does run away. The vet said he is young, at most 3-4 years old, because his teeth are very good. That was a surprise, because he has grey hairs. He weighs 16 pounds. He has energy of a young dog. He loves to run. He runs far and fast. He is perfectly trained. As far as other obedience training, forget it. I had a black dachshund until 2014. When FoundDog appeared on my sidewalk, he tugged my heartstrings. But I am a bird person. My dachshund understood that. She never chased birds, because she knew I didn't like it. This guy chases everything that moves. He looks like a dachshund, but is not a pure dachshund. I don't know what his mix is. I won't give him away for free, but re-homing fee is small. He comes with t-shirt.
