STRATFORD, CT — A Stratford household was displaced Thursday by a fire.
Emergency crews responded about 10:15 p.m. to the 2000 block of Broadbridge Avenue, where they found heavy fire pushing out of an upstairs bedroom window, according to a fire department news release.
The occupants of the home — four adults, three children, two cats and one dog — got out safely, but the structure is uninhabitable, the news release said. The American Red Cross is assisting the family.
In total, 22 firefighters, a shift commander and two safety officers were at the scene of the blaze, where the fire was brought under control in about 20 minutes. No one was injured. The cause is under investigation.
