Drinks x Design: Arts and Culture
Cultural arts, such as acting, singing, creative writing, drawing, crafts, photography or filmmaking are tools that help represent customs and values of society. Join Design Core on Wednesday, May 18th at the Detroit Opera to celebrate the role of arts & culture in unifying Detroit’s design community.
The Detroit Opera’s upcoming production of ‘X, Life and Times of Malcolm X,” emphasizes the role that arts + culture play in interpreting and documenting life’s diverse perspectives. Visual and performing arts help to preserve community identities and have the power to influence society by changing opinions, instilling values and translating experiences across space and time.
Event attendees can tour the Theatre with Detroit Opera’s chief historian Michael Hauser, meet representatives from surrounding cultural institutions and organizations, connect with design industry members and inform the 2022 Detroit City of Design Challenge.
Next BIG thing in the Opera is happening in Detroit.
