NATICK, MA — Now dogs of all shapes and sizes can feel comfortable at Eddie's Park in Natick. FIDO, the group that runs the park, announced the opening of a small dog area on Thursday. The section will allow smaller dogs a completely separate area fenced off from a larger space for heavier pooches. Eddie's Park officially opened on Sept. 4at the Middlesex Path parking lot along Route 135. The park was substantially complete earlier in 2020, but coronavirus slowed down the official opening. One of the final steps before opening was finalizing the park's rules, which you can see here. The Natick Conservation Commission oversees Eddie's Park, but funding and organizing for the park was handled by FIDO (Fun Informed Dog Owners of Natick). The park was funded in part by a $200,00 grant from the Stanton Foundation and another $50,000 raised by FIDO. The Eddie's Park is open daily from dawn to dusk.
