BRIDGEPORT, CT — A Bridgeport man who admitted in court to shooting several rival gang members has been sentenced to over 17 years in prison, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Connecticut announced. Undrea Kirkland, 25, (aka "Spooda") was sentenced to 210 months — or 17.5 years — in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, the attorney's office said. Kirkland, a member of a Bridgeport gang called the "Greene Homes Boyz," admitted in court to shooting and attempting to kill five people who were members or associate members of rival gangs, the attorney's office said. The attempts happened on three separate occasions — on May 22, 2015; Feb. 27, 2018; and Oct. 4, 2018. Additionally, Kirkland can be seen in a YouTube video holding a gun with a 50-round drum, talking about acts of violence, and celebrating a jury acquittal in his state trial for attempted murder, the attorney's office said, citing court documents and statements made in court. "Kirkland also asserted in the YouTube video that the acquittal was a result of jury intimidation," a news release from the attorney's office says. On Sept. 16, 2021, Kirkland pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to engage in a pattern of racketeering activity. He has been detained since April 1, 2019. Members of Greene Homes Boyz have distributed hard drugs, committed acts of violence against rival gang members and other people, and celebrated their actions on Facebook and YouTube, the attorney's office said.
