Press release from the City of San Antonio: Friday, April 15, 2022 CONTACT: Cleo Garcia [email protected] SAN ANTONIO (April 15, 2022) – To ensure that everyone who wants to receive a COVID-19 vaccine has access to get one, Metro Health is informing residents on weekly pop-up vaccination clinics and strongly encourages residents to use face masks at vaccination events. You can also get your flu vaccine at the same time you get your COVID vaccine. All Metro Health pop-up clinics offer the flu vaccine at no cost. It is available to anyone 6 months and older. Metro Health also wants to emphasize the importance of getting tested under the following circumstances: About five days after an exposure to a person who tested positive for COVID-19 As soon as you develop COVID-19 symptoms. Here is a list of COVID-19 testing sites available around the city. Below is the list of vaccine and booster shot eligibility and the upcoming pop-up clinic locations for April 16 – 24. All eligible residents are urged to get a COVID-19 vaccine and booster. Vaccine Age Eligibility & Booster Age Eligibility Pfizer, ages 5 and older, 12 years and older after 5 months since initial vaccine series.* Moderna, ages 18 and older, 18 years and older after 5 months since initial vaccine series.* J & J, ages 18 and older, 18 years and older after 2 months since single does vaccine.* * ADDITIONAL BOOSTER ELIGIBILTY - Certain immunocompromised individuals 12 and up and people age 50 and older who received an initial Pfizer or Moderna booster dose at least 4 months ago are eligible for another booster. In addition, adults who received a primary vaccine and booster dose of the J&J vaccine at least 4 months ago may now receive a second booster dose using the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. Please note that the pop-up vaccination clinic dates and times below are subject to change. Check the interactive map of COVID-19 pop-up clinics, www.covid19.sanantonio.gov, for the latest updates. Metro Health $100 gift cards are available only at Metro Health-sponsored pop-up clinics while supplies last. Only participants who complete their initial vaccination series, after the 2nd dose, of the Pfizer, Moderna or the one dose J&J at a Metro Health pop-up clinic are eligible.
