Dallas College Earns International Recognition for Sustainability Dallas College earned a Silver rating from the Association for Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) Sustainability Tracking, Rating and Assessment System (STARS)!STARS is a transparent, self-reporting framework for colleges and universities to measure their sustainability performance.With more than 900 participants in 40 countries, AASHE's STARS (Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System) is the most widely recognized framework in the world for publicly reporting comprehensive information related to a college's or university's sustainability performance.Participants report achievements in five overall areas: 1) academics, 2) engagement, 3) operations, 4) planning and administration, and 5) innovation and leadership.Under the guidance of Dallas College Sustainability, participating departments have taken steps toward becoming sustainable and our joint efforts have paid off.To read more about our Silver STARS rating, the news release from Dallas College.View the webinar, "Dallas College Just Earned a Silver STARS Rating: What Does That Mean, and How Will It Help Us on Our Journey to Sustainability?" Introducing a New Phase in Sustainable U Programming At the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, Dallas College introduced weekly, live Sustainable U webinars to showcase the sustainable solutions being implemented by local organizations and to stay connected with our students, employees and community. It's time to start re-building our in-person, on-campus activities. We will continue to offer online programs, but not on a weekly basis.
