GAITHERSBURG, MD — No one was home when an unattended candle or incense started a fire in a Gaithersburg townhome Thursday, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Spokesperson Pete Piringer said on Twitter. No one was injured in the fire, said Pete Piringer.Firefighters were able to put the first-story fire out and no one was injured, he said. Five people will be displaced, though, and the damage is estimated at around $50k. Fire and Rescue Personnel are going back to the neighborhood surround Travis Lane to talk to neighbors about fire safety as part of its "After the Fire" initiative, said Piringer.
