EAST MEADOW, NY — Nassau County is now accepting donations of personal protective equipment to help make sure first responders are adequately protected during the coronavirus pandemic. Nassau County Executive Laura Curran announced the move on Tuesday. Residents and business owners can drop of the supplies during the day this week and next week. Supplies will be collected between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. through March 27, and again next week, from March 30 to April 3. Supplies can be dropped off at the parking lot of the Nassau County Public Safety building, located at Field 3 in Eisenhower Park in East Meadow. Residents can donate: N95 Surgical Masks in unopened container/boxesEye protection, such as goggles and face shieldsNitrile Gloves in unopened boxes which have not expiredDisposable medical gowns (paper which are fluid resistant or plastic)Shoe cover/bootiesNo-Touch thermometersThermometer probe coversHEPA filters for Ventilators / Anesthesia MachinesAntibacterial and disinfecting wipes – typically alcohol or bleach basedDisinfecting wipes (Clorox/Lysol)Hand Sanitizer
